Questions about billing

Is there a free tier?

There is a free account, not a free tier of the data. Signing up costs nothing and lets you read the documentation, the OpenAPI spec, the plan ladder and /v1/health. The data routes need a paid plan, because the data is the product.

Can I change plan later?

Yes, at any time, and it takes effect immediately. Stripe prorates the difference. An upgrade applies to the keys you have already deployed. You do not rotate credentials or redeploy to get what you just bought.

What happens if my card fails?

Nothing, at first. Stripe retries for several days and your integration keeps working throughout, because a failed card on a Tuesday is usually an expiry rather than a decision to leave. Access stops only when the retries are exhausted.

What happens when I cancel?

Your account, your keys and your usage history stay exactly as they are. The data routes start answering 402 at the end of the period you have paid for. Nothing is deleted, so resubscribing later puts the same keys straight back to work.

Do you charge per request?

No. Each plan is a flat monthly price with a per-minute rate limit, so your bill is the same whether you make a hundred calls or a hundred thousand. The limit is per account, not per key, so buying more keys is not a way to buy more throughput.

Is VAT included?

Prices are shown excluding VAT, which is calculated at checkout from your billing country. EU businesses can enter a VAT number during checkout for the reverse charge.

Which plan do I need?

If you are displaying results, Starter. If you are telling someone how they did, by ranking a time or breaking down a race, Pro. If you are analysing whole fields, or need more than 60 requests a minute, Scale. You can start lower and move up in a couple of clicks.

Do you offer anything for non-commercial use?

Get in touch. Research, coaching-education and open-source projects are usually easy to accommodate; we would rather the data got used well than stand on a price list.
